A sewage backup is an emergency on a short clock. Contaminated water spreads through the building by gravity and capillary action, saturating porous materials permanently and driving bacteria and pathogens into assemblies within hours. Restotech responds around the clock to isolate the affected area, stop the source, and remove the contaminated water and solids before the affected footprint grows.
Crews arrive in full personal protective equipment and establish containment and negative air before extraction begins, so the area under work does not contaminate the rest of the building. Solids and gross contamination are removed first, then contaminated water is extracted with dedicated equipment reserved for Category three work, including trash pumps and submersible pumps for volume and weighted extraction for saturated flooring assemblies. Waste water is disposed of through approved channels, and equipment used in the contaminated area is decontaminated before it leaves.
Extraction transitions directly into removal of unsalvageable porous materials, cleaning and disinfection of the remaining structure, and engineered drying, so there is no window in which contaminated materials sit wet. We also identify the failure that caused the backup, whether a main line blockage, root intrusion, collapsed lateral, lift station failure or a missing backwater valve, and coordinate the plumbing correction so it does not repeat.
