Fire Damage Cleanup

Before any reconstruction can begin, the fire debris has to come out, the structure has to be evaluated and stabilized, and the salvageable has to be separated from the total loss. Fire cleanup is heavy, hazardous work involving unstable framing, sharp debris, contaminated ash, suppression water and, in older buildings, regulated materials disturbed by the fire and by demolition.

We assess structural condition and install temporary shoring where load-bearing members are compromised, secure the site with board up and fencing, and evaluate utilities before entry. Suppression water is extracted and drying begins immediately. Demolition removes charred and structurally compromised framing, sheathing, drywall, insulation, flooring and unsalvageable contents down to sound material, working under containment where regulated materials or heavy particulate are involved. Ash and char debris are contained, bagged and disposed of properly rather than tracked through the building.

With debris removed and the structure exposed, we perform detailed cleaning of remaining framing, apply appropriate sealers where char odor is bonded into the wood, and complete structural drying so the building is dry before it is closed back up. Salvageable contents are separated, inventoried and routed to cleaning, and total loss items are documented in detail for your claim. The site is then handed directly to our reconstruction team.
