Attic Infestation Remediation

Decontaminate, seal, restore
Infestation Leaves a Biohazard Behind

Rodents, birds, bats, raccoons and insects turn an attic into a contaminated space. Accumulated droppings, urine, nesting material and carcasses carry pathogens, sustain a persistent odor, attract new animals through pheromone trails and continue affecting the air in the living space below through the ceiling plane and duct penetrations. Removing the animals is only the first step of the job.

Controlled Decontamination

After removal and exclusion are complete, we establish containment with negative air and HEPA filtration, then remove and bag contaminated insulation, nesting material and porous debris at the source. Droppings are wetted before removal rather than swept, to prevent aerosolizing spores and pathogens. All surfaces, framing and the deck are HEPA vacuumed and treated with an EPA-registered antimicrobial, followed by odor treatment to eliminate the pheromone and urine signature that attracts recolonization. Crews work in full respiratory protection throughout.

Rebuilt and Protected

We repair the damage the infestation caused, including chewed wiring, damaged ductwork, compromised vapor barriers and framing, and verify that every entry point identified during exclusion is properly sealed. Insulation is reinstalled to specification and the attic is left clean, dry and defensible. You receive documentation of the contamination removed, the decontamination performed and the exclusion points sealed.
