Carpet is the largest air filter in most buildings. It traps soil, allergens, dander, pollen, dust mite debris and microbial matter, and once that load saturates the fiber it is released back into the air with every footstep. Regular professional cleaning restores appearance, but it also removes the abrasive grit that cuts fiber and permanently dulls carpet, which is what actually determines how long the carpet lasts.
We identify fiber type and construction first, since nylon, wool, olefin and polyester respond differently and the wrong chemistry can cause browning, dye bleed or texture damage. The process runs in sequence: thorough dry vacuuming to remove particulate before any moisture is introduced, pre-treatment of traffic lanes and spots with appropriate agents, mechanical agitation, then hot water extraction at high temperature and pressure to flush soil and residue out of the fiber, followed by a neutralizing rinse so no sticky detergent residue remains to attract soil. Low-moisture encapsulation is used where fast return to service is required.
Air movers are used to accelerate drying so carpet is not left damp, which is what produces odor and microbial growth after a cleaning. We also address specialized needs including pet urine treatment with enzymatic products applied to the backing and subfloor rather than just the surface, spot and stain treatment, deodorization, and protective treatment application. Post-loss carpet cleaning is coordinated with the drying and remediation scope.
