Remediation is not finished when the debris leaves the site. It is finished when objective testing confirms that the contaminant is gone, the affected materials meet dry standard, and the area is safe to reoccupy and rebuild. Post-remediation verification is the step that converts completed work into documented, defensible completion, and it is the step most often skipped on cut-rate jobs.
With containment and engineering controls still in place, the work area undergoes a visual inspection for remaining growth, staining, debris and settled dust, followed by moisture verification against the established dry standard, and analytical clearance sampling where the protocol requires it. For mold work this typically means air sampling compared to an outdoor control plus surface sampling of cleaned substrates. We recommend that clearance be performed by an independent third-party hygienist so the result carries weight with adjusters, lenders and future buyers.
You receive the clearance report, laboratory data, final moisture readings, before and after photography and a written statement of completion referencing the original remediation protocol. Containment is only removed after clearance passes. If any area fails, we re-clean and re-test at our cost before the project is closed, and the corrective work is documented in the same file.
